DAISY

Daisy has just moved into The Mill!!  She is an elderly cat found "wandering" in Gillingham. Daisy is a very distinctive looking girl - another

Torti!!   Her coat is predominantly dark ginger with white & black stripes.  But, what really makes her different is she "talks" very loudly with a Siamese accent!

She is a stocky girl, assertive and when back in 100% condition really beautiful.  Next week she will go to the Vets for a medical, 1st vaccination & she is not microchipped .  She is also has missing a few teeth some just chipped. Has a dicky tum to be expected the minute the food arrives she is gobbling for England probably nervous it will be her last!!  However, Daisy is still a stunning cat - please have a good look someone must know her or were friends with her human Mum??  We are not asking you to have her, but help us give some dignity to an elderly much loved pet.

She has obviously been a very much loved cat - we are guessing her owner may have been elderly and recently died.  Please can you have a really good look at her.  Have you seen her "wandering??" Or did you sit with her Mum having a chat??  It would just be lovely to find out a little of her history what is her "real" name??  Not sure if she is a lap cat she is definitely very loving.

CINNAMON

DOM S/H

N/F ?

AGE : Under 1 yr

Meet our delightful kitten Cindy. She’s so playful and full of energy and cuddles too. She did have cat flu as a kitten which has affected her eye, which is being monitored by a specialist, but this hasn’t hampered her joy for life at all. For more information, please contact Sandy at the rescue.

Cindy was discovered in a skip in Gillingham - she obviously had an eye injury she was only about 8 weeks.  We were very fortunate and met an Eye Specialist and he was very kind guiding us through the different drug she needed.  He said the eye was damaged through cat flu, but now several months down the road the eye is good although there is skin ½ way across the eye, but it doesn't hinder her activities.

Cindy is a beautiful looking cat - she is "The Twiggy" of the cat world and also has beautiful markings.  We do watch her a lot as we do not want her eye knocked whilst playing.  She does play with the other cats but is quite a loner currently.  She is a friendly loving cat loves being cuddled so she would probably fit into a home where life was at a slower pace.

PURDY

CALICO TORTI

DOM S/H

N/F ?

AGE : Estimated between 6/10 yrs

Not Microchipped

Probably not Vaccinated

Purdy has been a stray for several months, and was fed by the concerned neighbours.  There was an attempt to trace an owner, but sadly Purdy was not micro-chipped.  Also the local people did not recognise her as a "local cat" living in the area she just "appeared" one day.   When Purdy first arrived at our rescue she was very nervous, but over the weeks she has become friendly and trusting.  She now enjoys being groomed and especially likes Dreamies!! what cat doesn't??  She is a pretty cat and is becoming a real "poppet" - she would probably benefit living in a quiet household.

BELLA

10yrs

Dom s/h

White with a Torti tail and ear.

Bella is a pretty cat, enjoys her food and as a consequence is a little rotund!!  When she was handed in we didn't really get the whole story and we did not understand Bella had a few personality issues!!  The big "NO NO" in her life is she does not like other cats especially MALES!  As one would expect I do have two male cats who roam around, and yes their favourite sport is to annoy BELLA.  One way is for Buster to spray on her door.  So she only needs to see Bruno or Buster and one will hear this awful snorting noise (Yes, I know not very ladylike!!) but then it is followed by a blood curdling screaming noise. And yes, as you can imagine the two boys make a smartish retreat.  So we are looking to find Bella a human who lives in a quietish area where Bella could dream she was the only cat  around and she would be happy.   We have found when she is the only cat she is a friendly loving lap cat enjoying one to one attention.  So if you live alone or even live with a partner as long as Bella thinks she has her own "cat free" space and is made to feel special she would be a lovely girl to have around.  Think about it are you up for the challenge??  At least you would know there were no other cats digging up your garden!!

SCARLET

14 Years

Dom s/h

Neutered & m/chipped

Brindle Torti

Scarlet is a gentle loving girl, but does not like the company of other cats.  When she arrived, she lived with me, but she certainly did not like my Three Gingers.  She loves lots of attention and in the proper environment would be a real lapcat.  She would be ideal for someone who is retired and wants a cat who loves being cuddled, stroked and groomed.

Delilah

2yrs (estimated by the Vet)

This is a sad story, but I feel I must bring it to everyone's attention.  What can happen to young female kittens.

On 26 March 2023 a lady from Stalbridge brought me a small ginger cat now known as Deliah.  I was told she was aged 8/9 months and had come from a Multi-Cat Household in Wareham.  She gave no reason for not wanting Deliah, however, when she left it was immediately obvious Deliah was unwell.  When I examined her I noticed her rear end did not look normal.  Her poo/wee came from the same hole.  Also Deliah had an infection as well as being in season.  Because she was screaming in pain I immediately rang the Vets for an emergency visit.  She was put on medication for the infection but the Vet said she was not properly formed and would need an operation.   However, I felt our first priority was to get Deliah well again and to trust us to care for her.

On 17 May Deliah went in for her Op to see what she had and did not have.  She had her two tubes for weeing and pooing, which was a relief.  She was neutered because inside she was badly torn and damaged.  Why?? because aged at less than a year she had already had a litter of kittens!  Following her op she bounced back - no she would not wear the collar!! She immediately started playing, talking and eating.  A totally different cat emerged one to be admired, but I couldn't understand why she had been left as she was.

We are now looking to rehome Deliah, but to someone who is as special as Deliah.  She is a funny little girl very playful and chatty.  She is not currently a lap cat, but she is young and has to learn to be loved and to love.  She has obviously had a very strange life and at the moment she is more interested in playing!!!
